This stacked piece balances the tactile logic of making with a sense of sculptural improvisation. Each form is shaped and textured by hand, then glazed in layered finishes that shift subtly with the light. Arranged like oversized beads, the forms build upward into a rhythmic column that hovers between monument and experiment. It invites the viewer to move around it, feel dwarfed by it, and consider the ways material and scale shape perception.

"Stacks" a monumental whole made up of many parts—that utilizes repeated forms from base to top. Historically, totems have had a symbolic dimension to them; this abstract work, without inherent symbology, istead draws attention to the intricacy of its craftsmanship—it was made by hand, and reflects the artist’s careful, measured approach.
